Costa Rican Coffee Craftsmanship: A Journey to Tranquility and Natural Bliss with Specialty Coffee
I was born in Costa Rica, a country blessed with high-altitude coffee-growing regions and fertile volcanic soils. Coffee there is naturally exceptional, even in local supermarkets. As you journey from my province to the capital, you'll be greeted by the aromatic allure and scenic coffee plantations lining the San Ramon area. Coffee isn't just a beverage; it's a cultural cornerstone, an integral part of our daily lives. So, you could say that my coffee journey started right from my birth.
I come from a rural family where everybody drinks coffee. To get over the tiring days working in the countryside, coffee flasks were a normal thing: we would sometimes drink it as if it was water.
My grandfather's day never truly began without his cherished cup of coffee; without it, his mood would take a nosedive. I even used to prepare a fresh pot of black coffee, right in the coffee maker, for my mom each morning before she even got up.
I was raised with this cherished tradition of enjoying coffee at breakfast or during the afternoon—an enduring practice that I now proudly continue at home, savoring coffee, my coffee, in the company of my family.
To be honest, I didn’t really have a passion for coffee all the time… But when I became independent, living in the US, and started doing my own shopping, coffee was on my list. At that time, it was SUPERMARKET COFFEE. I did not know the concept of SPECIALTY COFFEE back then.
Specialty coffee is an artisanal craft. It's the personal touch that sets it apart. The coffee I roast embodies the culmination of all the experiences and knowledge I've accumulated along the way—experimenting, tasting, and learning from those who generously shared their expertise. The result is a genuine, one-of-a-kind creation.
